ACCEO AGM and Party
I arrived late afternoon on Friday at the Newark Showground to find, John and Anne already in place. After a welcome drink, it was time to get a bite to eat.
After a short break and stocking up with some drinks, it was back to the hall for the evening entertainment. Just a disco this year. The second half was more geared to dancing. Finally at 11.45 it was all over and time to go back to our vans for a well earned rest.
Saturday morning dawned dry and sunny. After morning coffee, John and Anne took me in to Newark for some supplies, plus buying the club Raffle Prize for the event A quick bite of lunch, then we all piled in for the AGM and open forum (the official reason for being here). After tea we were soon back in the hall. This year it was a barn dance and the floor was heaving Everyone seemed to be having a great time and all too soon it was 11.30 and it was all over.
Sunday and another bright day. Coffee had been brought forward to 10.30 to give more time for the mega raffle (115 prizes). John, Anne and myself sat patiently waiting, and we took two prizes each. It was the usual very enjoyable weekend, with superb entertainment and well worth the cost.
Thanks to the Eldiss Club who ran the weekend. It has been announced for Uttoxeter Racecoursenext year so lets make an effort to have a good turn out and a great time.

Dyke In Lincolnshire
I arrived at Dyke around 6pm to be welcomed by a cup of coffee and a cheery Dave. There were four units already there and I completed the set. This was my first rally with my Tischer motorhome and everything went smoothly. I was introduced to new members, John and Ann from Long Eaton. Welcome to the club. After tea we piled into the club tent for the evening Social, complete with nibbles. By 10pm there were just 3 of us left which remained the case until midnight when we finally called it a day.
Saturday and Ian and Linda took me for a ride out, visiting nearby Bourne, Spalding, Crowlands and Market Deeping, before eventually getting back in time for the Committee Meeting. This over we had time to get ourselves prepared for an excellent evening meal in the Pub, after which we eventually meandered back to the tent for a last drink and chat before bed.
Sunday, and some of us had decided to leave early for a nearby Car Boot Sale, so we missed coffee, but a good time was had, nevertheless.
Many thanks to Dave and Brenda for marshalling this rally, and to all my friends for their company. See you all at the forthcoming AGM and end of season party.
